Kitchen renovation captures spirit of Italian style home

A rustic bagged-brick tile splashback is combined with textured, over-brushed cabinetry and a granite countertop to create the Italian country feel in the clean-up zone in this kitchen by designer Shane George. Provision was made behind the cabinets for mechanical services and for future-proofing the kitchen as the solid masonry walls had to be left intact. Raw brass tapware is another rustic-industrial touch in the kitchen.
