Cable cars travel up Columbus Avenue in San Francisco, passing right alongside the new North Beach Branch Library positioned on the apex of the crossroads. The library, designed by Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects, mimics the rhythm and patterning of the older commercial buildings and Victorian row houses in the neighbourhood.
