Space Studio wins 2021 TIDA New Zealand Interior Design of the Year

For the renovation of this 1990s home, the owner wanted an interior suited to entertaining and family life, with the feel of a five-star hotel.

Dark oak, brass and marble were the preferred materials.

The dimly lit and partitioned existing interior was opened up, flooding the spaces with light through the almost entirely glazed northern face.

This also made the most of the views beyond, with the designer then framing the viewpoints across the home.

The TIDA judges noted how this results in a cohesive sequence of bright interior spaces, dotted with bold design statements throughout.
