Project overview

Our homeowners envisioned a modern-style home with a distinct Japanese vibe.

To achieve this, we emphasised the use of natural timbers, exposed structural elements, sunken living areas, roof cutouts, and Japanese charred timber finishes.

A central focus of the design is to maximise views of the golf course – influencing the prioritisation of room layouts toward this picturesque setting.

Specific requirements

Modern style with Japanese influence – the owner seeks a fusion of modern architectural elements with a pronounced Japanese aesthetic, achieved through carefully curated design features and materials.
Natural timbers and exposed structure – the design will prominently feature natural timbers and exposed structural elements to evoke a sense of organic simplicity and authenticity.
Sunken living areas – incorporating sunken living spaces enhances the connection between interior and exterior, creating a tranquil environment that resonates with Japanese design sensibilities.
