Finding a new angle
When a design calls for extensive glazing, Elephant Plasterboard is often specified
In keeping with the top-end nature of the home's design, Mike Flooks specified Elephant Plasterboard for interior walls. Due to the density of the gypsum core used in the plasterboard, it is often specified when designers are creating unusual features, or when high bracing ratings are required, says Kevin van Hest of Elephant Plasterboard.
"Elephant Plasterboard is the densest option for plasterboard in New Zealand. The gypsum used in its creation is from the purest source in the world. High brace ratings mean that this plasterboard is preferred when a design requires a lot of glass, for example, or is likely to be subject to some impact."
The product also scores highly on fire ratings. In tests, Elephant Plasterboard lasts six to seven minutes longer in fire than other similar products. It also outperforms any other plasterboard on the market in terms of acoustic ratings. A premium paper surface allows for easy application of paint or wallcoverings.
Elephant Plasterboard is wholly New Zealand-owned and has been in business for over 20 years.
