Escaping the day-to-day

From the designer:

I wanted to create a space that feels like the day spas you pay to visit. 

Our bathroom offers the functionality of the tub where you can choose to have a long magnesium soak or if you have less time use the cascading shower to wash away tension and awaken your senses and feel fully revitalised.

Every element was chosen to create calm. 

Bath given serene setting

The pebbles laid intricately on the floor complement the raw and natural marble wall panels, while the black oak composite wood panelling sitting under and beside the round soaking tub create a platform unto its own – whole zone contribute to the feeling of having escaped from the day-to-day. 

Warm lighting plays its part, too – with a focus on candles for evenings that distribute enough light against the raw marble walls to create a feeling of being alone in a cave carved out from noble stone.

The bathroom is designed to calm the nervous system, restore energetic balance and bring harmony to mind, body and spirit.

Working with compact footprint

The challenge of transforming a compact footprint into a tranquil sanctuary required strategic design moves – there is a focus on eliminating clutter, selecting high-quality natural textures, and utilising clever spatial solutions.

The hero elements of this oasis flow through into the powder room with the raw natural marble panels complemented by a custom stone sink and one-off privacy panel made from wood panels – materials chosen for their sculptural presence and sense of luxury. 

Working with these surfaces required specialist trades capable of precision cutting and seamless installation ensuring every line, join and edge met high architectural standards. 

The result is a space where craftmanship and natural materials elevate the wellness experience creating a sanctuary that feels both grounded and indulgent.

Each design element is to create a rhythm of contrast and relaxation. It is an elevated approach to health and vitality within the comfort of my own home proving that small bathrooms can be luxurious.
