Classic-feel centrepiece
This central kitchen celebrates a classic, enduring aesthetic – complete with walnut cabinetry, marble countertops, and steel-framed doors & windows
Designed by Chan Architecture and Sanders & King
From the designers:
Situated at the heart of a new extension, this kitchen was designed to serve as the central hub of the home.
The design emphasises a classic and enduring aesthetic, featuring solid walnut cabinetry, natural marble countertops, and steel-framed doors and windows.
As the centrepiece of the kitchen, the island bench is crafted with solid walnut legs and a thick marble top, designed as a gathering spot for the family.
This island not only serves as a functional workspace but also as a beautifully crafted piece of furniture.
The cooking area features a combination of carefully chosen elements, including a handmade tiled splashback, a copper-clad rangehood and designer wall lighting.
The bench extends along the side wall, seamlessly integrating into the dining area where a built-in sideboard provides additional storage.
Opposite the cooking area, a concealed pantry is discreetly integrated with full-height bi-fold doors, blending seamlessly with the surrounding wall panelling.
A standout feature of the kitchen is the full-height, double-sided brick wood fireplace, which acts as a visual divider between the kitchen/dining area and the living room below.
This fireplace creates a balance between visual separation and open connection, enhancing the overall flow of the space.
