Above: An outdoor fireplace serves one of the two courtyard areas on the sheltered side of this new home. River stones beneath the hearth add to the rustic outdoor material palette. The owners, who live here only a few weeks of the year, asked that the house require little maintenance. To address this, Shearing and Gvardijancic specified concrete tile surfaces for exteriors and porcelain tiles for the interiors. The design is by Fat Hippo Design Group.
