On this project by Hillam Architects, push-to-open handles on the cabinetry create unbroken surfaces in visual terms, adding to an overall minimalist look. Appliances are either fully integrated or in black and stainless steel. The in-door icemaker is the only clue to the whereabouts of the kitchens substantial refrigeration. The blackbutt wood wall to the left is actually an operable door that opens to the living spaces. A mirror splashback in the bar area adds to the sense of space and reflects the garden views.
