Large central island makes kitchen the hub for entertaining and family life

Look up – a feature of this living room is a Rimu batten ceiling with black negative detailing. For the kitchen, designer Kirsty Davis created a matching drop-down bulkhead which houses the rangehood, ducted ventilation and lighting. The ceiling-mounted rangehood was custom-painted black.
