Rather than specifying natural wood cabinets for this log cabin country house, the architect chose traditionally styled painted cabinets in different colors, which are reminiscent of cupboards pushed up against the wall. The island with a butchers block countertop has a similarly furniture-style look. The house was designed by Rill Architects.
