Contemporary functionality combines with the good bones of classic cabinetry design

Elegant chocolate-stained oak cabinetry panelling and chunky leathered granite benchtops are just two ways this kitchen by designer Shane George of Kitchens by Design achieves a classic, solid look. Tongue-and-groove detailing on the open shelves, moulded toekick detailing and cross-detailing on the front of the island, along with moulded cornice detailing to tall cupboards all played their part. However, while the kitchen has a traditional air it is backed by contemporary functionality. For example, the cabinetry features advanced Blum mechanisms and Hafale drawer runners for efficient operation.
