Stripping out the ceilings led to the discovery of a void created by the underside of the stairway to the apartment above in this fit-out by designer Pan Yi Cheng. It was decided to leave the expressed concrete on show, and this hollow is now a lighting alcove. The painting is by Han Sai Por, one of the owners favourite artists. Her work layers detail to create a uniform whole much like the steel rods in the unit.
