In the process of stripping back the existing interior of this apartment, wall linings and framing were removed, revealing the original brick wall structure of the early 1900s building. Architect Andrew Wilkinson says that while the owner didn’t want exposed brick throughout the apartment, it was decided to leave a brick section uncovered to add warmth and texture to the dining area in front of the kitchen.
