This garden has been restored to its original Zen-like sensibility, merged with contemporary touches – its peaceful charm a selling point for the homeowners

Landscape makeover by Ministry of Ground

From the landscaper:

Revitalising this Japanese garden was a journey of careful pruning and thoughtful removal, aimed at restoring its serene, minimalist origins.

The garden, once a tranquil retreat, had become overgrown and cluttered over the years.

Our mission was to bring back its peaceful charm, ensuring it would enchant prospective buyers with its Zen-like calm.

Upon taking on this project, we immediately recognised the garden's inherent potential.

The layout, although obscured by overgrowth, held the promise of a tranquil haven.

Our primary focus was to eliminate the clutter that had accumulated, revealing the garden's underlying structure and emphasising its simplicity and open spaces.

Our efforts began with decisive pruning and the removal of several overgrown trees and shrubs.

This allowed us to re-establish the clean lines and ordered spaces that are hallmarks of Zen gardens.

By selectively thinning dense areas, we created more light and space, highlighting the beauty of individual plants and garden features.

The pathways and garden beds received a fresh layer of mulch and gravel, enhancing their visual appeal and promoting plant health.

This simple yet effective treatment brought a renewed sense of order and elegance to the garden.

We also introduced a selection of tasteful plants, carefully chosen to complement the existing flora while adhering to the Japanese aesthetic.

This blend of traditional and contemporary plantings added a fresh vibrancy to the garden without overwhelming its serene ambiance.

A standout feature of the garden is its swimming pools.

These pools, once murky and neglected, were cleaned and revitalised, now serving as clear, inviting waters that reflect the surrounding beauty.

They add a unique element to the garden, combining functional luxury with aesthetic appeal.

The result of our efforts is a garden that perfectly balances traditional Japanese design principles with a contemporary touch.

The revitalised landscape now invites peace and reflection, making the property an irresistible sanctuary for potential buyers.

This project underscores our commitment to preserving the essence of classic gardens while preparing them for a new chapter in their storied lives.
