The time is right and finances are nearly in place. This is a chance to achieve a new house that is tailored to your needs a place to call home and watch your family grow up in. It's taken uncompromising commitment to get to this point now all you need is an uncompromising designer-builder to make it real.

Design-and-build specialist Jennian Homes offers a range of over 80 adaptable house designs. They also build to a client's own plans, says director Richard Carver.

"Three constant elements in a Jennian project are our uncompromising attitude to workmanship and materials, maximum value for your investment over the years, and stand-out professionalism," he says. "We also bring an in-depth understanding of contemporary lifestyles."

All Jennian homes are tailored to exact needs in terms of lifestyle, budget and a carefully planned, stress-free build. The two houses seen here are good examples.

"One is designed to accommodate an active family with two teenage children. The client wanted a home that was like a retreat, a place to come home and relax," says Carver. "Our design response was to create a home with a simple, flowing interior and generous wrap-around outdoor living spaces, which are both private and low maintenance."

This house is oriented to make the most of the sun, even in winter, with bifold doors, extensive windows and high ceilings. The result is a warm, welcoming house flooded with light.

The other Jennian home featured is designed to maximise use of a sloping site. Designed in conjunction with the owners, the house combines full-height aluminium joinery and a low-pitched roof ensuring the home sits well within the contours of the land and its surroundings.

Low-maintenance plaster exteriors are a feature of the house. The portico is flanked by substantial columns framing the double front door, creating a dramatic sense of arrival.

The house responds well to the client's vision of how the home would look. The interior features several levels, which give definition to the living rooms and privacy to the bedrooms. The study is centrally located and provides views over the valley when the client is working from home.

"These are only some of the ways our company responds to a client's personal vision or how we turn a site negative into a site positive," says Carver. "A Jennian home is designed to suit your needs to the letter and a fixed-price contract ensures completion within your budget."
