The house has been designed as a sculptural form in the landscape, with a series of cut outs revealing access areas such as the entry and garage.The cuts have been lined with timber as an expression of the warm interior.Some of the cutouts reveal windows, where this happens the metal cladding is returned to the glass line.From the street (reading front to back), the first form contains the garage, guest bedroom and master suite while the connecting link contains two children's bedrooms and the central circulation gallery. The gallery features exposed aggregate concrete panels that lead you to the end of the house, revealing the panoramic view over the lake and mountains.The second form facing the views contains the kitchen, dining, living and lounge.This area features a timber ceiling and exposed aggregate fireplace.The house protects the owners from this harsh climate as well as enhancing their experience of this stunning natural environment.
