Refined, functional & fire unfriendly

When choosing blinds for commercial premises, safety is as key as sun control and privacy. Luxaflex commercial blinds conform to the NZ Building Code's stringent fire regulations

High performance

With an extensive range of blinds, awnings, shutters and shades on the market, Luxaflex's proprietary products continue to lead the market in high-performance daylight regulation and solar heat control solutions.

As part of this, Luxaflex’s popular commercial sunscreen and blockout blinds meet stiff fire retardation/regulation controls. This means meeting AS1530 part 2 of the New Zealand Building Code which assesses the speed factor, spread factor, heat factor and flammability of a fabric when exposed to a naked flame. This professional assessment translates into a Flammability Index rating.

The ratings are here for some of Luxaflex's most popular ranges, separated into sunscreen and blockout roller blind ranges – as a guide, a low number is better!

Sunscreen and light-filtering roller blind fabrics

Sunscreen fabrics have an open weave that softens bright light, screens UV and minimises heat gain. Some sunscreen fabrics are see-through, so room occupants can still enjoy the view.

Mōrena FR

Mōrena FR's 2 x 2 basketweave construction provides great stability and excellent vision out while controlling light, glare and heat. Selected colours are available in matching 5% and 10% openness. This medium privacy factor fabric can be printed on.

The fabric is independently tested to AS1530 part 2. Flammability Index: 5 Range [0-20]. Mōrena FR is lead free and Greenguard Gold accredited – meaning it doesn't exceed the maximum VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) criteria specified by the Green Building Council.

La Vista

The PVC coated semi-transparent polyester yarn of La Vista is woven in a stable 2 x 2 basket weave construction.

This was independently tested to AS1530 part 2. Flammability Index: 6 Range [0-100].

Landscape

The 2 x 2 basketweave construction of semi-transparent Landscape provides great stability and excellent vision out while controlling light, glare and heat. Colours are available in 5% and 10% openness, providing a level of daytime privacy without compromising your view.

Independently tested to AS1530 part 2. Flammability Index: 1 Range [0-20].

Silverscreen

Also semi-transparent SilverScreen 205 metal backed screen provides excellent vision out, and dramatically reduces heat and glare at the window, independent of colour. The fabric offers an unparalleled solar reflectance of 78%.

Constructed from a hard wearing PVC Coated Fibreglass, SilverScreen is inherently Flame Retardant. Independently tested to AS1530 part 2. Flammability Index: 0 Range [0-20]. Silverscreen is also Greenguard Gold certified.

Roller blind blockout fabrics

For offices and shared areas that need maximum light control - for privacy, security or functionality – Luxaflex Blockout Roller Blinds are a practical and aesthetically pleasing choice

Excel FR

Excel FR has a modern colour palette and is suitable for blinds of up to 3200mm. The 100% polyester blockout blind has an easy to clean acrylic foam backing and offers a high privacy factor.

Excel FR is tested to meet fire retardant level AS1530 part 2. The fabric is lead free and Greenguard Gold accredited.

Atmosphere

A plain, blockout fabric, Atmosphere features the latest colour trends with a plain woven texture. It has an easy to clean soft foam backing that is soft to touch, yet has impeccable hanging performance.

Atmosphere is Independently tested to AS1530 part 2. Flammability Index: 6 Range [0-20].

Plaza/Plaza Wide

Another plain blackout fabric, Plaza is a 100% polyester and made in Australia. This range has a Sanitization Treatment ensuring ongoing freshness. Unpleasant odours and bacteria don't stand a chance.

Of course, Luxaflex blinds tick a lot more boxes than those of quality and fire safety.

Energy efficient

As well as protecting your staff in the face of a fire and offering easy control over the comfort levels and so staff productivity in your workspace, Luxaflex roller blinds and shades offer great energy benefits.

Shading that is fitted to a building provides significant reductions in solar heat gain, while reducing UV rays. Automated sunscreens and blockout blinds can be connected to Building Management Systems (BMS) for optimal control of air conditioning loads and comfort of the building occupants.

Durable

These products are also extremely durable – a must whether it’s an office, restaurant or retail premises.

Luxaflex’s glass fibre based fabrics possess inherent strength, dimensional stability and chemical resistance. The company’s polyester fabrics are also available to provide environmentally friendly options while still offering high levels of performance.
