A practical yet pampering bathroom
As well as having a place for everything (think dedicated makeup station and ottomans to relax on in the dressing area) this master suite achieves a flowing, connected feel with a quiet sense of luxury at every turn

From the designer:
The brief for the homeowners was to create an elegant master suite that was very practical while feeling luxurious.
It was important for the bedroom, dressing room and ensuite to look and function seamlessly as one suite
The dressing room was to incorporate practical features – including ironing facilities, a makeup station and somewhere to sit and put your shoes on.
The ensuite was to be spacious and be able to be used easily by both owners at the same time.
There were no internal doors between the bedroom, dressing and ensuite so one issue we had to overcome was finishing these wall junctions nicely.
This was achieved by continuing our end joinery panels in the dressing room through to the ensuite and the bedroom, connecting the spaces visually.
The joinery finish throughout is Bestwood Washed Oak, which we complemented with pops of black lacquer, steel and texture coat.
We used a large dark grey tile throughout the bathroom to create a moody backdrop for the timber-look feature tile and sculptural bath.
Given the scale of the space, and rather than going with typical tiled recessed niches for housing soaps etc, we opted for some custom black shelving in the shower and above the bath with an integrated towel rail as an interesting point of difference.
For a further sense of luxury in the dressing room, we added a cluster of glass pendants and flocked jewellery drawers as well as a sit-down makeup station with pockets of display shelving.
Two custom upholstered ottomans reside in the dressing room, making good use of the generous space and allowing our homeowners to get ready together in comfort.
The use of recessed LED strip lighting in the spaces adds to the luxurious ambience by washing textured surfaces and provides a nice warm glow throughout the suite during evenings.
