One of the main focal points and most used spaces of a family home, after the kitchen, is undoubtably the main bathroom suite connected directly to the master bedroom. 

Function, experience, craftsmanship and personality were at the forefront of the design brief and had to tie in effortlessly with the overall design scheme of the home. 

The challenge was to give personality to a series of formal spaces contained within a single zone that also serves as a private retreat.

Accessed directly from the first floor stair lobby, the suite welcomes you with a small kitchenette bench, giving a hotel-like feel/experience on arrival.

Separate his and hers dressing rooms, individually designed to suit the owners' requirements and tastes, lead to the main bathroom ensuite.

Colours and textures used in the bathroom and dressing room suites evoke emotion and intrigue. 

This was the key design approach to the interior experience of the wider home, which complements the owners' personalities and is carried through into the design and experience of the bathroom.

The space is sculptural in form and features refined detailing and a rich layered material palette of Verde Alpi marble, brass, ribbed panelling, and black hexagon mosaics.

 Plus, the brass-white Carrara marble feature wall is carried through to the floors. 

Custom lighting was also designed for this bathroom suite.

This refinement and detail continues through to both dressing rooms and the kitchenette bar – all taking reference from the home's main kitchen hub detailing.

Darker onyx hand made concrete vanity basins and matching bath tub were introduced to amplify the moody ambiance within the bathroom, with a sit down dressing table incorporated into the scalloped vanity bench.

Textural and tactile finishes add to the rich tonal palette such as the ribbed joinery panels along with the hexagonal mosaic wall and floor tiles paired with reeded glass to obscure views from space to space yet still allow filtered light through.

Soft radius edges were introduced to the custom designed joinery, softening the formal room arrangement.
