Custom-built doors and windows retain the character of this traditional villa

For this major villa renovation project, architect Philip Jones specified custom-built doors and windows from Bungalow & Villa, a company that specialises in the manufacture and supply of a wide range of timber products for character homes.
Simon Buckley of Bungalow & Villa says every door in the house and all the timber-framed windows were replaced.
"The joinery was custom built to the architect's specifications, but most of the designs are included in our standard range. These include double-hung windows, villa-style French doors and a traditional front door with sidelights.
"The over-wall sliding doors at the rear are another key feature they allow a very wide opening from the main living area to the garden."
Timber doors and windows have a high insulation value, which means homeowners can often choose between single and double-glazed joinery.
