This home is brand new but the interior, with its classic elements, could make you wonder if it's an adroit villa makeover

Interior design by Katie Scott, Sticks+Stones Design

From the designer:

Surrounded by character housing, mainly villas and bungalows, these new build owners wanted a fresh, new character home that felt like the traditional Villa and like it belonged in the area.

It was to have all the modern aspects of a new build but look like and feel like a villa.

Wishlist

  • The home was to have the character of a traditional villa
  • A fresh and clean feel
  • Brass tones and traditional look product
  • A contemporary feel kitchen with a traditional vibe
  • New appliances, minimal feel
  • Oak flooring with a classic look
  • Good indoor outdoor flow/serverie piston window to outdoor bbq/fire area
  • Ensuite with skylight
  • Family lounge and formal lounge( open plan)

Outcome

The finished home makes it hard to tell if it's a full scale renovation of a villa or a new build.

The warm tones of brass are brought through the home from entry to kitchen in the Patagonia stone of the feature island, brass trims, tapware, lighting and furnishing choices – imbuing the home with a classic meets fresh feel.
