Material advantage

With a carefully executed contrast between dark and dramatic, light and reflective finishes, this renovated kitchen space is a welcomed statement piece in a new open-plan area

Designed by Jag Kitchens

From the designers:

From classic to new – this renovation takes this Malvern home a step forward in time.

While respecting an inheritance of historical beauty, this architectural extension introduces and integrates modern-day living in its true form. The spectacular, open-plan dining, main living and outdoor setting provide a mesh of intermingling spaces.

The kitchen’s, moody black, 2-pac cabinetry in zero-sheen matte, accompanied by the rich tones of Likewood, Tuscan Oak joinery, blend and harmonise with elements of the home such as sand-stone walls and low-profiled, exposed, Spanish inky brickwork.

The functional 4.6m island incorporates wash up, food preparation, cooking and casual dining. High quality, German (Hettich), user-friendly systems include anthracite, Architech drawer and door hardware, Orga tray cutlery and utensil organisers, an integrated waste management organiser and an under-sink storage caddy.

A 6mm Maximum porcelain Marmi Statuario  matte splashback resembles natural marble and acknowledges and connects with the ancestry of this estate.

Livid, porcelain benchtops in Maximum, matte black, Pepper complement the Lamborghini black-painted cabinetry doors.

Carefully orchestrated shark-nose edge profiles on both benchtop surfaces and joinery unify and consolidate a precision look.

Integrated appliances and disguised kitchen walls enable the joinery to extend into other areas such as a dry bar zone and Butler’s kitchen.

The look is chic, flawless, uninterrupted and logical.
