This striking kitchen is tailored to a professional couple embracing their newfound independence. 

Our well-established homeowners regularly travel and entertain at home.

The brief

Their brief was clear – provide unparalleled design and functionality. 

They sought a high-performing kitchen that could effortlessly host elaborate gatherings or prepare a quick weeknight meal for two. 

Central to their brief was a contemporary response with a well-considered workflow plus sustainable building materials to reflect their values. 

A final condition was that any ‘white-on-white’ design was off the table!

The outcome

The resulting kitchen has redefined the concept of luxury for the discerning couple on the go.

The design has met the owners’ brief – a moody dark colour palette for the cabinetry adds drama, while brass inclusions create contrast and sophistication. 

There is nothing ‘white on white’ in this design! 

All of the fussier elements of the space are concealed in the scullery, allowing the more visible areas to be pared back, solid and highly contemporary. 

Integrated appliances keep things streamlined in a design sense.

Function

The space functions exceptionally well because of the scullery placement. 

Situated just behind the main kitchen, it allows our homeowners to food prep in this area, with all mess and appliances hidden from sight. 

The expansive benchtops are great for preparing meals and serving up – plated food and glassware look fantastic paired with the dark marble. 

Dining space at one end of the island allows the empty nesters to enjoy practical meals for two.

Aesthetics  

All detailing and materials are designed to be timeless, with plenty of statement features incorporated into the space, including the unique placement of strip lighting, which creates a warm and inviting vibe when entertaining. 

The brass pendant lighting also takes the ambience up a notch when entertaining – its softer curved aesthetic is a clever contrast from the kitchen's sleek, angular lines.

Several open shelves of varying heights allow our couple to display duty-free liquor and bespoke pieces from their travels.

Sustainability

Sustainability features include the marble-look benchtops and splashbacks, which look incredible and are a sustainable building material designed to last. 

All appliances were carefully selected for energy-efficiency.
