To achieve this, we incorporated warm, organic materials and textural tiles into the design. With a polished concrete floor featured in the new addition, the owner wished to include this element in the bathroom. We paired this with natural grey tiles in the shower and sealed the concrete floor with specialist waterproofing products. The bathroom is centrally located between the laundry and bedroom areas, making it easily accessible and conveniently grouped with other service areas. The detailing of the tiles was an important design aspect of the space. When we couldn't find a tile edging that matched the tapware, our builder created a custom-made brass tile trim that complements both the tiles and the tapware – providing an elegant solution for this feature. The bathroom layout is spacious and practical, with storage in both the vanity cabinet and mirror cabinets. A large south-facing window fills the room with daylight, while downlights and vanity lights provide adjustable levels of lighting. To create a luxurious feel in the space, we proposed a back-to-wall bath which avoids the problem of cleaning behind a freestanding bath. The frameless shower screen emphasises the spaciousness and light, while the hardware throughout matches the tapware for a cohesive look.We continued the aesthetic throughout the house by replicating the colours and tones in the laundry, kitchen, and living areas. The resulting bathroom is a thoughtful and practical design that meets our homeowners' brief for a functional and beautiful space.
