Just as mobile phone, computer and home theatre technology surges ahead, so too does kitchen appliance technology. Intelligent design is changing the look of kitchens and the way we prepare and cook food and it's all for the better.

Kitchen Things can put you in touch with all the latest developments, so your new kitchen is future-proofed for years to come. With 11 stores nationwide, including the featured design store in Newmarket, Auckland, Kitchen Things brings together all the appliances and products you need so you can make informed comparisons. Most stores display more than 300 models.

Director Kane Langdon says the stores carry all the top European brands, including Smeg, Miele, Bosch, Asko, Baumatic, Liebherr and Falcon. Several leading brands, such as AEG and Viking, are distributed exclusively by Kitchen Things.

"We work closely with both leading appliance importers and kitchen designers to chase down new international trends, so we can showcase the very latest in design and technology for the kitchen and laundry," Langdon says. "The new technology includes induction cooktops, condenser dryers, steam ovens, pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens, in-built espresso machines, fully integrated refrigeration and advanced sensor control rangehoods.

"We have also taken care to select only reliable, high-quality brands from companies that stand by their products with prompt service and spare parts support."

Langdon says Kitchen Things' in-store consultants make recommendations based on clients' lifestyles and preferences. Factors that influence appliance choice include space, budget and personal needs.

Not surprisingly, given the scope of the Kitchen Things business, the company has very large sales volumes and massive buying power. Langdon says this allows savings to be passed on to customers.

In addition to the featured design store in Newmarket, Kitchen Things has stores in Whangarei, Mairangi Bay, Mt Eden, Botany, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. More stores around the country are planned to be opened over the next couple of years.
