European heating design warming hearts in New Zealand

Reasons to love winter – the VisionLINE Taurus wood-burning fireplaces from The Fireplace offer style, performance, efficiency and versatile installation

A wood fireplace brings soul to your home interior – delivering cosy, economical heating over our winter months.

VisionLINE Taurus wood fires

For over 45 years, local supplier The Fireplace has been bringing the world’s leading brands of modern designer fireplaces to New Zealand – the latest being the stand-out VisionLINE Taurus wood fires.

The perfect companion

The four clean air approved VisionLINE Taurus models blend into any interior, says Angela Hiddleston, architectural advisor at The Fireplace.

"With an option for any interior, they are offered in both inbuilt (with zero clearance) or freestanding options – either single-sided or double-sided," she says.

“The VisionLINE Taurus is the perfect companion for a renovation project, replacing an old unit, or integrated into a new construction.

"Whatever the setting the outcome is the same – a stunning view of the fire and optimal heating.”

The single-sided Taurus – clean-lined élan

Encompassing style and class with efficient, radiating heat, the VisionLINE Taurus unit features durable construction with high grade materials.

Centre of attention – the double-sided Taurus

Incorporating all the great features of the single-sided model, the double-sided panoramic Taurus offers the ultimate fireplace experience.

“Selecting a double-sided VisionLINE Taurus wood-burning fireplace can transform a home into a warm and elegant space,” says Hiddleston. “Its versatile design and exceptional performance provide comfort and ambience, while delivering effective, room-warming heating.”

To take full advantage of the double-sided Taurus's warmth and mesmerising flame flicker, locate the freestanding fire in the centre of a room

Two fires – one impressive array of features

Both the single-sided Taurus and double-sided Taurus offer the same impressive array of features.

  • High heat/long burn times
  • Landscape viewing window/s
  • Kiln brick linings
  • Low emission wood burner
  • Approved to National Environmental Standards (NES)
  • Optional sealed external air kit
  • Optional bench
  • Optional insulated flue system
  • Zero clearance box with inbuilt option

Clean air approved and suitable for passive homes

“The VisionLINE Taurus wood fires are not only clean air approved for urban areas, but they are also suitable for passive homes when fitted with the VisionLINE Air Flue System,” says Hiddleston.

Designed in Europe for high-efficiency homes, the VisionLINE air flue is crafted with the highest quality materials and packed with state-of-the-art technology – enhancing your fire while maintaining indoor air quality and efficiency.

Its system is a coaxial, room-sealed insulated flue system for freestanding solid fuel slow combustion heaters.

“It is designed to increase the performance of slow-combustion heaters and increase the efficiency in the home when compared to a typical air-cooled default flue.”

Flue features

  • Flue is co-axial, room-sealed and insulated for freestanding slow-combustion wood fires
  • Constructed of double-walled welded 316 stainless steel and reinforced by 0.5mm carbon steel
  • Range of flue components
  • Approved to AS/NZS 2918

So which VisionLINE fireplace is right for you?

Some prefer the look of an integrated fireplace, while others appreciate the style of freestanding fireplaces that can be set up almost anywhere.

Freestanding fireplaces may look better in larger rooms and are ideal for open-plan areas but may not be suitable for smaller rooms or a wall where a television and a fireplace are located.

Both freestanding and inbuilt single-sided or double-sided VisionLINE Taurus models will upgrade the look of your home.

Installation and maintenance costs should also be factored into your decision-making process – built-in fireplaces can be more costly as they need to be properly fitted into the wall.
