Facebook Tweet Help Stories Bathroom New Zealand TIDA Bathrooms Easy on the eyes Share Tweet Help Low maintenance design and atmospheric lighting are just two practical advantages of this bathroom that's in tune with its 2000s-built apartment Designed by Elliot Johnson, E J BuildingFrom the designer:Owners' requestsA bathroom to complement their townhouse built in the 2000s.Low maintenance What we achievedA shower partition wall was added to avoid having to use glass in the bathroom, keeping to the low maintenance brief – this was built at 1.8m high to align with a tile module, ensuring that it didn’t make the space feel enclosed.A full width shelf was added behind the bath and also the shower – these were set a different height and were both set to a line with tile modules.50mm directional downlights were added to the ceiling to cast light down the wall of the bath / shower as a feature – these were set up with a sensor and dimmer so there is a soft light for the toilet to be used in the night without having to turn the main lights on. Issues encounteredBeing a townhouse with a concrete mid-floor, we didn’t have the option of relocating fixtures without the project becoming a major undertaking.
