Easy on the eye

Of course bathrooms are private, but not all the time – this bathroom is designed with lightness, flow and high visibility in mind

Designed by Elliott Johnson, EJ Building

From the professional designer:

 Owner requests:

  • The bathroom was able to be seen from the kitchen / living room area so it needed to flow on well and be visually appealing
  • The old bathroom was very dark, so they wanted to create a space that was more light and airy.

What we achieved:

  • A skylight was added to optimise natural light
  • The placement of the skylight above the vanity brought out the hues of the natural timber
  • A feature was made of the bath, recessed shelf and window as they were able to be seen from the kitchen

Issues encountered:

  • The addition of a skylight was very weather dependent, requiring close timing with all the sub-trades on the job
