Du Bois Design wins 2023 TIDA New Zealand Designer Suite of the Year
Congratulations to Natalie Du Bois of Du Bois Design – winner of the 2023 Trends International Design Awards New Zealand Designer Bathroom Suite of the Year
In this renovation project, the entire top floor of the property has been reconfigured to create a separate, private wing for the parents of two teenage children.
A family bathroom has been converted to the ensuite, and walls were moved to create the bedroom, complete with living area and large, galley-style walk-in wardrobe.
Key to the owner’s requests was a change from the original hard, masculine interior to a softer and lighter, contemporary look, but with some traditional elements
The suite’s neutral palette moves from blush tones in the bathroom to warm greys and fawns in the bedroom.
The original bathroom’s frosted glass windows were replaced with clear glass to lighten the space even more, while white shutters have been added throughout the suite to provide privacy when required.
The TIDA Judges felt this was a cohesively designed suite, with a soothing and relaxed ambience. Its balance of contemporary and traditional features ensure its wide appeal.
