When it came to the build itself, a large amount of planning was required to ensure all design aspects were fulfilled. The installation of the 750-kilogram bath – craned in – was one aspect, another was working with the polished concrete floor finish. The architecturally designed bathroom has a strong wow factor. The briefThe owners' brief was challenging and took a large degree of planning, to ensure all aspects of the design were fulfilled. When walking into the sanctuary your eyes are drawn to the 180-degree light filled view of the established garden. However, views aside, the pivotal statement to this bathroom is the custom made formed concrete bath in a stunning black finish. Everything has been thought about with this bath – including the raw copper plumbing features and in-built electric heating, keeping the bathwater warm for hours. One way viewsSteel window frames with one-way reflective glass, act as the perimeter walling to this setting. The windows become a multi purposed element, acting as the shower screen to the feature waterfall shower head, which is discretely nestled into the Level 5 Flushing finished ceiling. As there were no traditional external walls, due to the perimeter of the room being glass, the shower mixer was designed into a full height steel framed shelving system. This feature also provides a location for the additional shower arm. A full length custom strip drain is set into polished concrete flooring. All set in concreteTiles were not used on the floor, therefore there was a high importance at the concrete pour stage, to ensure the falls were set to aid the required water drainage. The custom vanity top and basin are also in a concrete finish. The vanity's black-framed mirror is designed with a de-mister around the perimeter, to ensure it will always remain clear. A linen cupboard is nestled into the corner of the room to ensure there is ample storage. Jarrah timber adds to the warmth of the room. The bathroom's recycled roof tiles support the home's original character.
