Holiday pavilion bathroom features a bathtub outside on the deck

For this cleverly designed and meticulously constructed coastal getaway, parts of the bathroom are accessed off the circulation corridor. The remainder is proudly out on the front deck.

Designed by Liminal Architecture, built by Lane Group Construction, and with interiors by Liminal Spaces, The Coastal Pavilion consists of a living pod, a bed pod, and a bathing link between.

Responding to the granite rock formations that dominate the immediate coastline, the pavilion – one of several – is curved in plan. This curved form brings shelter and privacy to the central deck, including its open-air bath.

While the pavilion exterior is in charred Red Ironbark, the crafted interior is finished in warm Tasmanian Oak including the bathroom linking space. 

The holiday homes have varying orientations in terms of living and sleeping pods, while the toilet is off the linking corridor to one side and the spacious shower off to the other side.

The shower room’s dramatic charcoal tiling contrasts the feature interior cladding and naturally guides the eye to the full-length window that overlooks the bath, deck and ocean beyond.

The washbasin is in a wall niche next to the shower and this also faces directly to the views.
