Resolving challenges of heritage requirements results in holistically sustainable home with a very distinctive character

All this family home’s day-to-day living spaces – both indoor and outdoor – are on the top floor. Running the length of this space is the glazed facade sitting inside the reconstructed masonry facade that matches the walls of the original shop top building. With this arrangement, the design meets council requirements to recreate the heritage structure, while still allowing ample natural light into the new structure and minimising thermal gain.
