For the form of the Health Sciences Education Building in downtown Phoenix, CO Architects drew on the solidity, colours and striations of the surrounding mountains. The building consists of two wings separated by a central outdoor canyon. This eastern facade has no windows, but a large crevice has been carved out of each wing, allowing shaded northern and southern light to enter.
