Dry-stacked limestone walls extend from the outside to the inside of this mountain house, reinforcing the strong connection between indoors and out. The walls are intersected by the flat planes of the soffits, which serve several functions they bring a sense of intimacy to the great room, provide a bulkhead for indirect lighting, and help to shade the interior in summer. The design is by Charles R Stinson.
