A two-and-a-half-storey void in the centre of this contemporary house acts as a light well and thermal chimney, allowing hot air to escape through sliding doors on the upper levels. The stairs wind up this vertical corridor in a figure 8 a visual reference to the Asian lucky number. One step is clad in marble, while the others feature a mix of walnut and European oak. A small reading room with an Eames chair is positioned on the mid level. The design is by architect-owner Taras Wolf.
