For more than 30 years, Trends has promoted great home design ideas through its print, digital and online media.
The Trends International Design Awards – TIDAs – take that involvement to the next level with the search for the best kitchens, bathrooms and homes across a number of the countries where Trends has a presence.
2018 Trends International Design Awards: Entries close: Thursday 29 March 2018
Entry is open in three categories:• architect-designed kitchens
(open to registered architects only) • designer kitchens
(open to professional designers only) • imported kitchen projects
(open to all designers and architects)
For Australian kitchens that were completed in 2017 or early 2018.
More than one entry may be entered, but each must be submitted on a
separate entry form.There is no charge for entry

Once we have received your entry, we will email you a link to upload:
– hi-res image files
– a client brief
Key dates7 February 2018
– entries open29 March 2018
– entries close
Winners will be announced in the April issue of Trends and will be published progressively in following issues.
Entries must include:
1. PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHY
Please supply no less than 3 – and preferably 6 or more – professional photographs
of the entry project, suitable for publication. Ideally these would include some images that show how the kitchen links to adjacent areas of the home.
• Image files should be no smaller than 210mm x 297mm at 300dpi
• Acceptable file types are hi-res jpg, tiff and eps
• Minimum megapixel camera: 16MP
Please supply at least one detailed floor plan. Additional elevations and drawings may also be submitted, up to a maximum of 6
• All significant room dimensions and an indication of adjoining rooms must be shown
• Maximum plan file size is 20Mb per image
• Acceptablefile types are jpg, tiff, psd and pdf
nb: DWG files cannot be accepted
3. CLIENT BRIEF
Up to 300 wordsthat outline the main client requirements, any specific challenges and how these were overcome.
Please supply as bullet points.
Please supply as a Word doc or PDF.
JUDGES & JUDGING
Judges will assess entrants on the following criteria:
• How the design fulfilled the requirements of the client’s brief
• Functionality – including creativity and space design
• Aesthetics – detailing and materials
The winners in each TIDA category will receive an extensive promotional package across Trends print
and digital channels.
The judges, at their discretion, may also award Highly Commended to projects in this category.
The winners also proceed to the International section of the TIDAs, to be judged alongside winners
of other awards programmes to find the 2018 TIDA International Kitchen of the Year.
