Cladding makes walls and roof into an interesting design feature

LARGE COMMERCIAL buildings generally have substantial areas of roof and wall cladding that, without careful treatment, can dominate the development.

At Sylvia Park, Dimond supplied one of its more versatile products, Brownbuilt 900, for use as the main roofing and cladding material. To achieve the aesthetic effect required by the architects, Brownbuilt 900 was specified in a number of different standard and metallic colours. It was then cut into a series of angles to create a design feature on both the roof and the walls of the building.

Dimond product manager Scott Townsend says the key to the design is the way in which the metallic colours have been used to accent what could otherwise be very large expanses of uninteresting wall space.

Another version of Brownbuilt 900, Brownbuilt 900 Reverse Run, has been used to add another texture to the wall surfaces. This product displays wider ribs and narrow pans, offering sections of the building a different aesthetic dynamic.

A further Dimond roofing product, Durolite Heatguard, protects the walkways around the precincts from the rain and sun. Durolite Heatguard was specified for its ability to transmit natural light while blocking heat and harmful UV rays.

Dimond worked closely during this project with professional installation company Kiwi Roofing, who installed these products.
