Something out of the ordinary that was what the owners of this new house wanted when they went looking for fixtures and fittings for their bathrooms.

Brent and Angela Attwood's search for innovative bathroom products led the couple to the Kohler showroom, where they chose fixtures that would make a strong design statement.

But it wasn't just about aesthetics. The couple also wanted to incorporate the latest technology. Consequently, their home is the first in New Zealand to feature a shower with the Kohler DTV digital control system, which is paired with a WaterTile¢ Rain shower panel.

The shower has four 54-nozzle, fully adjustable shower heads that create an invigorating deluge of water. There are four additional WaterTile bodysprays positioned on both sides of the enclosure to enhance the shower experience.

It is the DTV control that provides full customisation, however. With its thermostatic valve and digital interface, the DTV control allows the owners to programme their preferred shower setting. The water temperature and the strength of the hydrotherapy massage can be preset for up to six different shower users.

To enhance the spa-like environment, the master suite features a therapeutic Kohler Solaro hydrotherapy whirlpool. This tub is equipped with flush-fitting air jets that provide a relaxing or invigorating massage to the entire body. Alternatively, the jets can target specific stress zones, such as the lumbar region.

The Solaro also features neck cascades that provide a gentle massage to both sides of the neck and shoulder region, while the waterfall massages the base of the neck and upper back.

Other Kohler products in the master suite include the chrome Wave tapware and the Escale wall-hung toilet. This design contributes to the spacious, uncluttered look of the bathroom as the tank is concealed within the wall.

The family bathroom features a range of other Kohler products from the Escale suite, which complement the modern design of the house. Inspired by Japanese ceramics, the Escale suite includes the distinctive flared Vessels handbasins, which are teamed with Kohler Wave tapware. An Escale back-to-wall toilet suite sits flush to the wall, further enhancing the streamlined look. This bathroom features an Evok bath.
