This modern home by BAK Architects doesn't interfere with the forest surrounding it – it's perfectly immersed

It's clear every effort was made to ensure the home didn't interfere with the surrounding forest

About the project: This client wanted an exposed concrete home in the forest to fit a large family. They wanted large social spaces as well as an independent master bedroom. The expression 'hiding in plain site' comes to mind.

I like the floating concrete walls - clever and interesting. But I feel sorry for the person who has to clean the pine needles off the flat roofs, or the dirt drifting in from the slopes merging with the driveway or deck. The concrete interiors? I think a concept taken too far - about as cozy as a military bunker.
