A white box or cloud floats above the living platform at the rear of this new house. The windows of the master suite on the upper level are set well back from the fixed louvres to create deeper shadows and to add a touch of drama. The architect says the shadows make the windows harder to see, adding to the sense of mystery. Landscaping elements include a long reflection pool beside the deck, and a solid basalt wall that provides privacy from the adjoining right of way. The architecture is by Ponting Fitzgerald.
