Future perfect from Commercial Design Trends volume 2314
Founded in 1997, Mo's Roofing is a relatively small roofing and cladding company that specialises in architectural work. Due to a shining reputation obtained through its work on the INB Hub Alliance in Brisbane's Central Business District, the company was Leighton Properties' preferred contractor for Green Square.
The company's main role was the installation of all roofing and external metal cladding for the North and South towers. They also installed fibreglass wall sheeting throughout the buildings. In order to comply with Green Star requirements for the building, Mo's Roofing used only water potable silicones in their work, rather than chemical-based products.
"In our work, this is the only element in which the level of ecological proficiency can be increased, so we were pleased to adopt this product and will be using it in the future," says Mo Sorbie of Mo's Roofing.
In installing the cladding, the company used a product, relatively new to the market, called Premier 300. This bold-look cladding visually enhances the exterior of the structure, with prominent horizontal lines and a striking profile.
On-site recycling carried out by Mo's Roofing included placing metal off-cuts of sheetings and flashings, and packaging such as timber crates and plastics, in the appropriate bins supplied by Leighton Properties.

Leighton Properties contracted Mo's Roofing to supply and install the roofing, exterior metal cladding and fibreglass wall sheeting. Metal off-cuts and packaging were recycled, and environmentally safe products were used.
