Bringing a new kitchen project to a successful conclusion calls for an understanding of the lifestyle and passions of the homeowners.
The owners of this home approached Beyond the Box Designs because their old kitchen didn't suit their needs. As professional chefs who enjoy entertaining at home, they wanted a kitchen that was efficient and allowed them to cook and converse with guests in the adjoining dining and living areas.
Destan Eutsey, CKD, CBD, of Beyond the Box Designs, says this young couple liked a traditional look, so her company looked at the rest of the house for colors and door styles.
KraftMaid cabinets in cherry wood, with a black glazed finish, are complemented by black appliances. A built-in dishwasher and trash compactor with decorative door panels helped create the traditional style the owners wanted.
To the right of the refrigerator are 12in-deep pantries, and the cooktop and sink are located so the owners can work and chat with guests. A small desk area replaces a closet and houses a wine cooler.
