Strong accent from Outdoor Living & Holiday Home Trends volume 2303
Outdoor living areas have come into their own in recent years, as homeowners spend more time on the deck or patio, enjoying al fresco dining and entertaining.
It's not surprising, therefore, that people are also paying more attention to their landscaping, with one of the most noticeable trends being the move towards natural stone walls and features.
The properties on these pages feature Stutex Stone natural stone veneer walls. Director Lorraine Goudie says the manufactured stone profiles have been designed to replicate New Zealand's regional stone, and feature intricate surface textures that are hard to distinguish from natural stone.
"The veneers provide a way to achieve a natural stone appearance without the usual associated cost," she says. "This makes it a cost-effective option for both landscaping and cladding. As Stutex Stone veneers are just one third the weight of natural stone, they can be installed over standard foundations without the need for additional structural bracing. The light weight also means installation is fast and efficient, providing further cost savings."
Stutex Stone has distributors nationwide, who can offer site measures and quotations for supply and/or installation. They can also assist with technical information.
For more information, contact Stutex Stone, 8/6 Westgate Dr, Westgate, Auckland, freephone 0800 788 839, or (09) 832 8300. Email: stutexstone@xtra.co.nz. Website: www.stutexstone.co.nz.
Natural stone veneers make the barbecue a focal point of this outdoor living area. The walls feature Cerastone Grey Edgestone ES60 from Stutex Stone, a lightweight veneer that replicates the look and texture of natural stone.
Cerastone Grey Edgestone stone walls disguise a plain fence, creating an attractive corner for this garden landscape. Stutex Stone veneers are easy and quick to install, and are particularly suited to areas prone to ground tremors.
