Light fantastic from Renovation Trends volume 2301
We all know about the damage that the sun's UV rays can cause, to both us and our homes. What we may not know, however, is that UV rays only account for around 40% of the damage caused to home furnishings.
Heat and light are also contributing factors to the gradual destruction of our belongings, says Tint Pro director Rolf Stucki.
"Heat from the sun slowly cooks carpets and fabrics, and causes leather and wood to dry out and crack, while strong light penetrating the home is responsible for about 25% of fading."
Tint Pro has a solution that will protect your valuable furnishings and still let you enjoy your view – the world's first nano-ceramic solar control window film, developed by Hüper Optik.
Stucki says ceramics are tough, stable materials, achieving higher heat rejection than traditional dyed polyester window film, which tends to bubble and peel, or turn purple in high-UV environments.
Tint Pro's nano-ceramic window film blocks 99% of UV rays, is not affected by salt-water environments, and comes in a range of shades for increased privacy. Nano-ceramic window film is available through selected national agents.
