The attention to detail that typifies every aspect of the house interior extends to the more functional elements as well as the aesthetics. The vent hood in the kitchen, for example, was custom designed and manufactured by US Sheetmetal to complement the log-house theme.
Company president Doug Johnson says the hood features a raku wheat pattern that was hand-ground into the steel. The hood was then die-coated to match the color of the log walls and beams.
"The vent hood incorporates the Deco-Line remote fan and muffler system," Johnson says. "As with all our Deco-Line products, the system was engineered to fit the custom design of the hood."
US Sheetmetal also manufactured the organic-shaped custom stainless steel sinks in the kitchen island and the stainless steel outdoor barbecue cabinets on the terrace.
In addition, US Sheetmetal built the steel stairway to the artist's loft and the loft balcony railings, and engineered a tracking system for a large, heavy glass door in the master suite.
