Inspired by nature from Home & Architectural Trends volume 2501
The sense of mystery and intrigue created by the dramatic iron gates extends to the front entry, which features textured-glass doors overlaid by a large steel branch.
The doors, designed and manufactured by Unique Art Glass, incorporate two types of kiln-formed textured glass. Company owner and artist Mark Olson says the textured glass pattern above the branch is reminiscent of the sky, while the lower panels reveal a foliage and woodgrain patterning. The steel branch has a rust patina with a waxed finish.
Unique Art Glass also created the stained-glass window with pine-cone detailing. Olson says the window features extra-fine Uroboros multi-colored glass set in the Tiffany style, where the solder is sculpted as part of the artwork. All the wire elements were rubbed to create a bronzed patina.
The glass study doors are another project by Unique Art Glass. These custom-designed doors, from the Crushed Diamond Series, incorporate crushed glass sandwiched between two frosted glass panes with etched patterns.
