Private oasis from Home & Architectural Trends volume 2406
It's not just the aesthetics that define today's high-end homes – the technology also sets them apart. For this project, HP Media Group of Las Vegas supplied and installed high-performance audiovisual equipment, a full home automation system and an acoustically designed home theater.
Co-owner Kevin Peltier says the owners were looking for a very high-end home theater. Consequently, HP Media Group specified a JBL Synthesis 2 sound system and a Runco 3-chip projector.
"The theater features the Cinematech ARS – an acoustic room treatment system that provides fabric-covered acoustic wall panels. Computer modeling was used to determine the correct acoustic balance for the room," Peltier says.
The high-end audiovisual equipment, which can be accessed by touchscreens and remote controls in every room, is controlled by a Crestron system. In addition to the distributed audio/video, the system also controls the Lutron lighting control, HAI security system, CCTV cameras, air conditioning and heating, pool and spa, fireplaces, and all motorized window coverings.
